CCRH
Project Name: CIDCO-CCRH
Sector: R&D and Healthcare
Area: 80,000 sq. ft.
Status: Completed
Description:
The campus for the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy at Kharghar was envisioned as more than a conventional institutional facility—it was conceived as a spatial translation of an idea: a place where research, healing, and knowledge dissemination coexist in balance.
Located in the evolving urban fabric of Navi Mumbai, the project responds to both its institutional stature and its environmental context. As an apex body under the Ministry of AYUSH, CCRH required a campus that reflects leadership while remaining rooted in the principles of homoeopathy—subtlety, harmony, and holistic well-being.
A significant aspect of the project lies in its landscape integration. The open spaces are not residual but integral—designed as therapeutic environments that echo the ethos of homoeopathy. Gardens, water elements, and shaded pathways are interwoven with built forms, creating moments of pause and reflection. The architecture avoids excess, instead relying on restraint, proportion, and material honesty to evoke a sense of calm.
Climatic responsiveness guided many design decisions. The buildings are oriented to minimize heat gain, with deep overhangs, screened façades, and naturally ventilated corridors addressing the coastal conditions of Navi Mumbai. The interplay of light and shadow becomes both a functional and experiential quality, shaping how spaces are perceived throughout the day.
